There is a doctor shortage coming in the area of General Practice, due to falling salaries. This is occuring despite the $2 trillion that has been spent on healthcare by the US Government. The median salaries of General Practitioners reported do not meet rising costs of medical education. As a result, there has been an increase in physicians choosing a specialty rather than pursuing a career as a General Practitioner.
