Medical Director of Transfusion Services - Manhatttan!:
Pathology/Hematology/Oncology - Blood Transfusion Medicine in Northeast US

This is a senior level position that is in large part hospital based.  The incoming physician will be based at one of three hospitals, but will provide oversight and consultative support to all physicians functioning as hospital transfusion directors in hospitals and medical centers contracting with our client.  They will be required to accept a formal hospital appointment with one or more of the client hospitals.  Responsibilities may include the development of educational programs for clinical staffs, optimization of transfusion service procedures and protocols for client hospitals, oversight of quality assurance programs also designed to optimize transfusion practice in client hospitals and working closely with the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Chief Medical Officer, to whom he or she will report, to increase the number of hospitals contracting for these services.

The ideal candidate will come from an academic tertiary care center background. It is expected that the successful candidate will qualify for a senior faculty position in one of the New York area medical schools.  The parameters of the search are for a hematologist or clinical pathologist who is board certified in Transfusion Medicine.
